AshantiGold stun Swedru All Blacks to end 10-match unbeaten home run

Translate

FC AshantiGold 04 produced a remarkable comeback to beat Swedru All Blacks 2-1 at the Swedru Sports Stadium, ending the hosts' three-match winning streak and 10-game unbeaten home run.

The Elephants recovered from an early setback to claim all three points, with goals from Zak Musah and Frederick Twumasi overturning Faisal Charwetey's opener.

All Blacks made a fast start and took the lead in the seventh minute through Charwetey, putting the home supporters in celebration.

However, their advantage lasted just seven minutes as Zak Musah restored parity for AshantiGold, bringing the visitors back into the contest.

Both sides went into the break level at 1-1 after an evenly contested first half.

AshantiGold returned from the interval with renewed determination and continued to push for a winner.

The visitors eventually completed the turnaround in the 76th minute when Frederick Twumasi found the back of the net to give the Elephants a crucial 2-1 lead.

All Blacks responded with a triple substitution, introducing Solomon Ayikabia, Godfred Yartey and Vincent Baah in place of Charwetey, John Andoh and Salisu Mohamed as they searched for an equaliser.

Roland Leveh was also replaced by Prince Arthur in the 90th minute, but the hosts could not find a way back into the game.

The final whistle confirmed a significant victory for AshantiGold, who ended their difficult run of away results with an impressive performance against one of the league's strongest home sides.

For Swedru All Blacks, the defeat was particularly disappointing, bringing their three-match winning streak and 10-match unbeaten home record to an end.

Full-time: Swedru All Blacks 1-2 FC AshantiGold 04.
