Exclusive: Coronation Street star calls for Abi and Kevin romantic reunion

It's been a tumultuous year for Kevin and Abi Webster, with the pair separating after the latter embarked on an affair. To make matters worse, the fling wasn't with just anybody, as Kevin's nephew Carl was the third party in the triangle.
Though Abi and Carl's relationship has since ended, it remains to be seen whether Kevin will let his estranged wife back into his life in a romantic sense, though there is ample opportunity for this given the fact they are living together again.

While no teasers have been revealed, actor Sally Carman - who plays Abi - has outlined her belief that the pair should get back together, even if her character may have to do a lot of repair work to get there.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy at the 31st National Television Awards on Tuesday (8 September), Carman was asked about the potential of a romantic reunion for the beloved former couple.
"I’m not sure, but I hope so. I love working with Michael Le Vell. I adore him, he's one of my closest friends, he’s just a dreamboat – so I hope so," she said, before adding that it was "great" to see Abi in a more "stable" situation in her life.
The actor, who joined the ITV soap in 2017, also teased what the future could hold, sharing: "Well, we're coming up to Christmas, and all I will say is there's lots of different things with huge emotional range happening to many a folk. That's all I can say."
Carman's latest comments echo the ones she made in relation to the storyline back in February, where she stated: "I genuinely don't know what they’ve got planned in the script."

"I don't know if Abby and Kevin will get back together. I love working with Michael Le Vell, and I miss him. So as long as we'll still have some scenes together, I'll be okay," added the actor.
Elsewhere in Weatherfield, it was recently confirmed that Sarah Platt will be a part of some "devastating" scenes as she goes on trial for the murder of Theo Silverton. Debbie Webster, meanwhile, will also cause concern as she makes a big mistake.
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
