Translate

Dutch police clashed with around 500 far-right protesters during a rally against immigration and asylum policies in The Hague.

A far-right demonstration in The Hague descended into violence on Saturday as protesters clashed with Dutch police.

Around 500 people took part in the “We Are The People” rally, which was called to protest government policies, particularly on immigration.

Police officers were deployed in large numbers as protesters threw fireworks and other projectiles. Mounted police detained several people, while water cannons were briefly used to disperse the crowd.

Smoke from flares filled parts of the streets as officers moved to secure the area.
