The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is fast-tracking the construction of drainage facilities and septic tanks at the University of the Philippines - Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) in Manila to help address flooding.
In a statement, the DPWH chief Vince Dizon said the project is expected to be finished in 2026
“Sinabi ni Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon na matatapos ng DPWH ang mga nasabing pasilidad sa UP-PGH sa susunod na taon na layuning mapabilis ang paghupa ng baha sa loob at labas ng compound ng ospital,” the Department said.
(Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon said that the DPWH will complete the said facilities at UP-PGH next year with the aim of speeding up the receding of floodwaters inside and outside the hospital compound,” the Department said.
The DPWH said fast-tracking of the project was ordered by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
