#SHOWBIZ: ASC 2026: 34 global influencers to battle in KL this Oct 17

KUALA LUMPUR: The All Star Championship (ASC) 2026 is returning on Oct 17 at the Flamingo Hotel here, uniting 34 social media influencers from nine countries in a showcase blending sports, entertainment, and tourism.

Featuring competitors from Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, Nigeria, and Morocco, the event offers a total prize pool of RM200,000.

It builds on the success of last year's local debut and April's Dubai Edition.

ASC Chief Executive Officer Datuk Abd Rahman Soltan highlighted that the tournament is designed to scale up Malaysia's profile on the international stage, particularly alongside the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

"ASC isn't solely about who wins or loses in the ring. We want to construct a platform that seamlessly merges sports, digital media, entertainment, and tourism into a unified experience," Abd Rahman said.

"By bringing in influencers from various countries, they aren't just competing; they're introducing their audiences to Malaysia."

He noted that the participants' massive digital reach will allow them to broadcast live content covering local food, culture, lifestyle, and destinations directly to millions of global followers.

Despite the digital focus, Abd Rahman emphasised that athletic rigour remains a priority.

"Once they step into the ring, they're no longer just influencers. They must prepare like athletes, displaying discipline, commitment, and the courage to push their limits," he added.

"We want to show the younger generation that digital influence can be harnessed to promote positive messages about sports, fitness, and an active lifestyle."

The Malaysian lineup features local creators including Amir Harris, Jai JMT, Mikha, Fareez, and Ikmal Dany. International contenders include Indonesia's Chima, Kumala, and Ayu Aulia; India's Gulfishan; Pakistan's Abrar; the Philippines' Altina; Vietnam's Filip; Japan's Takaharu; alongside KRU and Hicham representing Morocco.

Ultimately, Abd Rahman sees the event's purpose extending far beyond crowning a champion.

"We want every participant to return home with a piece of Malaysia, sharing that experience with millions of followers," he said.

"If we can blend fierce competition with digital storytelling and tourism, I believe ASC can make an impact that reaches well beyond the ring."
