#SHOWBIZ: Tragic loss: Cindy Crawford's model son Presley Gerber dies at 27

LOS ANGELES: The son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, Presley Gerber, has died at the age of 27.

The former model passed away on Sunday at a rehabilitation facility, according to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.

A official cause of death has not yet been confirmed, with an autopsy pending.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, a representative for the Gerber family issued a brief statement confirming his passing, saying, "The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time."

Alongside his parents, Gerber is survived by his younger sister, the 25-year-old model and actress Kaia Gerber.

Following in his mother's footsteps, Gerber launched his modelling career as a teenager alongside his sister.

After signing with IMG Models at just 15, he made his runway debut for Moschino in Los Angeles before going on to walk for high-profile fashion houses such as Dolce & Gabbana in Milan and featuring in campaigns for Calvin Klein.

In recent years, Gerber faced public struggles, including a 2019 arrest for driving under the influence, which resulted in three years of probation, community service, and a mandatory DUI programme.

He was also candid about his ongoing battle with depression and mental health challenges.

In 2020, he made headlines after getting a facial tattoo reading "MISUNDERSTOOD", which he later appeared to have removed.
