Betty Bayo’s Brother Breaks Silence On The Cause Of Her Death

Translate

The brother of late gospel singer Betty Bayo has publicly addressed the official conclusion of the inquest into her passing, signaling a long-awaited moment of closure for the family after months of unanswered questions.

Edward Kang’ethe Mbugua, widely known as Ng’esh, took to Facebook on October 1, 2026, to share that the formal investigation into his sister’s death had ended. He confirmed that medical findings established the cause of death as AMN, noting that the resolution has finally brought him peace.

Betty Bayo—born Beatrice Wairimu Mbugua—passed away on November 10, 2025, at Kenyatta National Hospital. While initial reports attributed her sudden death to leukemia or blood cancer complications, her family strongly contested the narrative and raised concerns over the circumstances surrounding her final days.

Through their legal counsel, Omenke Andeje and Company Advocates, Betty’s mother, Joyce Wairimu Mbugua, petitioned the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Inspector-General of Police in December 2025. The family highlighted that the singer had no prior history of chronic illness and alleged that they were denied access to her medical records and postmortem findings. They further claimed her burial on November 20, 2025, was rushed, prompting suspicions of a potential cover-up that ultimately led to the official inquest.
