Saravanan, family at MACC HQ for asset declaration notices

Former human resources minister M Saravanan arrived at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya this morning with his wife and two of their children to receive notices requiring them to declare their assets under Section 36 of the MACC Act 2009.

Bernama reported that two black vehicles carrying Saravanan and his family were seen entering the compound at 9.15am.

MACC chief commissioner Abd Halim Aman earlier said that notices would be served on Saravanan, his wife and their three children, requiring them to declare their assets within a month.

The third child, who is still abroad, will be served a notice in November.

Saravanan was previously charged in the Kuala Lumpur sessions court with three counts of receiving bribes totalling nearly RM1.09 million in connection with the approval of 1,000 foreign worker quotas for a company in 2022.
