Justin Timberlake Playfully Apologizes for His Beatboxing Era
What goes around for Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake is coming around for their son.
Indeed, the 7th Heaven actress and the Grammy winner’s son Silas proved he’s following in their footsteps with a brief cameo in his mom’s new film Matchbox: The Movie, which hit Apple TV Oct. 9.
At the end of the film, which also stars John Cena, the 11-year-old appears TKTKTK.
Prior to the film’s release, Biel—also mom to Phineas, 6, with Timberlake—reflected on whether Silas took after her or her husband more.
“My 11-year-old is a little bit of both,” Biel told E! News at the film’s premiere Oct. 5. “He plays a small part in the movie at the very end, which is really cute.”
But don’t blame Silas if he can’t stop the feeling of also being intrigued by his dad’s musical gene. As Biel revealed of her elder son, “He’s a DJ, so he's kind of interested in both lanes.”
Ultimately, Biel and Timberlake aren’t forcing their kids to be mirrors staring back at them.
“We're just kind of letting him take his time,” she explained, “and see what happens and what he really gets interested in.”
Silas’ acting debut aside, The Better Sister star is just happy to have scored a few mom points when she brought him and Phineas to set to spend time with one of their biggest role models: Cena.
“I feel like their brains implode whenever they come to set, especially a set like this, where there's a hero of theirs that they're meeting,” she mused. “There's cool action sequences, there's fight sequences.”
And while Silas got to have a part in the making of the film, Biel was thrilled her younger son was still enchanted by the effects.

“He was like, ‘Is this real? Is this not real? John just got punched and he fell on the ground,’” Biel recalled. “It's just a lot of confusion. My 11-year-old is like, ‘I know what this is,’ but the 6-year-old is still like, ‘What's happening here? Cannot compute.’”
Meanwhile, the Sinner actress was well overdue for admiration from her kids, especially considering she previously admitted that Timberlake was considered the “cool” parent.
“They think Justin’s kind of cool, because the music element, and like he’s Daddy,” she lamented during an appearance on The Tonight Show last year. “I am so lame to them.”
