Chelsey Summey Departs As Warner Bros Head Of Communications

Translate

EXCLUSIVE: With more exits expected later this week as Paramount seizes Warner Bros, we hear that the latter’s Head of Communications, Chelsey Summey, has departed the Burbank, CA lot.

Summey first joined Warner Bros as SVP of Communications in January 2024 and was later named Head of Communications reporting to Motion Picture Bosses Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy. During her tenure she oversaw strategic communications across Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation, Warner Bros. Clockwork and Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures. In this capacity, she led internal and external communications strategy, advising studio leaders on high-profile business and reputational matters while shaping the narrative around Warner Bros.’ films, talent, and broader business priorities.

Summey came to Warner Bros from Amazon MGM Studios, where she served as Head of Corporate Communications for the studio’s film group.

Before that, she spent nearly a decade at 20th Century Fox (now 20th Century Studios), where she rose to SVP Corporate Communications, overseeing media relations, executive communications, corporate events, talent relations and awards campaign strategy for the studio as well as the daily operations of the global communications team.

While at Fox, she worked on several award-winning and blockbuster movies including Bohemian Rhapsody, the Deadpool franchise, The Greatest Showman, The Martian, The Revenant, Hidden Figures, Life of Pi and the Ice Age franchise, among others. During her tenure, she also played an integral role in developing and leading the studio’s crisis communications strategy.

Before Fox, Summey held corporate communications and publicity roles at both Paramount Pictures and CAA.
