Kamene disclosed that the procedure was performed on Monday, adding that she was recuperating with the support of loved ones. Although she admitted that the recovery process had been difficult, she remained hopeful of returning to her normal routine soon.
“So yes, I had surgery on Monday. I have been discharged, recovering at home with my amazing support system. Recovery is hard, but I am determined to be back to normal ASAP. Be gentle with me; I’m a bit delicate right now,” Kamene said.

In a separate message, the former radio host expressed gratitude for the overwhelming love and kindness she had received since news of her health situation emerged.
She said she had intended to acknowledge the messages earlier but had been caught up with other events.
“Ah! My loves!! I am so humbled. I’ve been meaning to do this, but events got ahead of me. I just want to say thank you so much for the immense outpouring of love you have given me and the well wishes. Be blessed sana,” she said.
Kamene’s Previous Health Scare
Her latest update comes months after she opened up about a serious health scare in early 2026 that nearly cost her life.
In March, Kamene revealed that she had been experiencing health problems from around November 2025, but her condition deteriorated significantly in January 2026.
She said doctors informed her that she had been left with a narrow window between life and death, estimating that she had only 12 hours.
“I have been sick for a while and just did not know how sick I was, from around November last year, but in January 2026, I almost died. I was left with like 12 hours; the window between life and death for me was like 12 hours,” she revealed.
Kamene also disclosed that she had been diagnosed with sepsis and peritonitis in her abdomen, requiring doctors to remove five litres of pus.
