Russia will immediately supply over 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the US and other global markets, US President Donald Trump announced in a Truth Social post on Friday.

Another 500,000 are expected to be supplied in November, and another 1,000,000 “immediately thereafter,” according to Trump.

“Between our TOTAL CONTROL of the Strait of Hormuz, and this great announcement on Russian Energy, Diesel Prices for Americans and, indeed, the World, will be COMING DOWN, IN RECORD NUMBERS, AND FAST!” Trump wrote in the post.

The announcement came following a "highly successful" discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin's envoy praises US-Russian cooperation on diesel, energy after call with Trump

Russian President Vladimir Putin's envoy, Kirill Dmitriev, praised cooperation between Russia and the United States on diesel and energy in a post on X/Twitter on Friday, shortly after Putin spoke by phone with US President Donald Trump.

After Putin and Trump spoke, the US leader said Russia agreed to immediately supply over 300,000 metric tons of diesel fuel to the American and global market.

"Russia-US cooperation on diesel and energy will benefit the world," Dmitriev wrote on X.
