SINGAPORE, Oct 17 — All ActiveSG sports facilities in Singapore have resumed operations as haze conditions eased slightly, with the 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) readings falling back into the unhealthy range overnight, The Straits Times reported.

In a haze advisory update on its website, ActiveSG Circle, Sport Singapore’s online platform promoting sports participation, said facilities resumed operations on October 17 according to their respective operating hours.

It advised visitors to monitor air quality conditions and adjust their activities accordingly, urging vulnerable groups to exercise extra caution during outdoor activities.

Sport Singapore said it would continue monitoring the haze situation closely and adjust operations where necessary.

ActiveSG had temporarily closed all outdoor and non-air-conditioned facilities at its sports centres across the southern, eastern, western and central areas on October 15, when the 24-hour PSI reached the very unhealthy range, peaking at 212 at noon.

Separately, The Kallang said on Instagram that outdoor operations had resumed at some facilities after being suspended a day earlier due to poor air quality.

Accorrding to the report, the affected venues included the OCBC Aquatic Centre, Water Sports Centre, Kallang Football Hub, outdoor courts at Kallang Tennis Hub and all outdoor community facilities.

However, in an update close to noon on October 17, The Kallang said the Water Sports Centre would suspend operations from 11am until further notice due to deteriorating visibility. Earlier, it had said activities would be restricted to a designated water area, with conditions monitored throughout the day.

All other outdoor venues and community facilities remained open, it said.

According to The Kallang’s website, all outdoor activities would be suspended when the 24-hour PSI reached the very unhealthy range of between 201 and 300. All indoor and outdoor activities would be suspended if the reading exceeded 300.

Meanwhile, SAFRA Tampines reopened all its outdoor sports facilities on October 16 after temporarily closing them a day earlier due to the haze.

However, outdoor facilities appeared to remain closed at other SAFRA clubhouses, including those in Toa Payoh, Jurong and Choa Chu Kang. The Straits Times said it had contacted SAFRA for more information.
