[UPDATED] MACC orders Azeez, family to declare assets within a month

KAJANG: Former Lembaga Tabung Haji chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim and his family members have been instructed to declare their assets within a month.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said the graftbusters served asset declaration notices on Azeez and his family members this week.

"The notice was delivered to him and his family, and specific forms were provided for the asset declarations to be submitted to the MACC," he said after an MACC shooting programme with the media at the Kajang Prison College.

Also present were Media Prima Bhd News and Current Affairs deputy group managing editor Datuk Farrah Naz Abd Karim and New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd chief operating officer Luqman Adrine Ja'afar.

On Sept 9, Azeez was charged with one count under Section 23 of the MACC Act.

As of Sept 18, MACC had charged six people in connection with eight issues or cases as part of investigations into the Tabung Haji Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI), while five other investigations are still ongoing.
