University of Kentucky knocks off No. 9 Texas A&M on the road, 31-21

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (FOX 56) — The Kentucky football team knocked off No. 9 Texas A&M on the road Saturday, 31-21.

This marks the first Top 10 win of Will Stein's head coaching career, the first for UK on the road since 1977, and the 14th overall in program history.

Kentucky overcame a dropped touchdown pass, a missed field goal, and a 7-0 deficit to head into halftime tied. Coming out of the break, the Cats came alive, scoring three touchdowns on their first three drives of the third quarter.

Quarterback Kenny Minchey went 14/18 and threw for 252 yards and two touchdowns, while running back CJ Baxter rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns.

UK defensive coordinator Jay Bateman returned to College Station for the first time after spending the past two years with the Aggies. His unit forced two turnovers during the game, including a late interception from safety Jordan Castell that put the game on ice.
