HBO Max and the New West End Company unveiled a landmark partnership on Wednesday “to bring the magic of Harry Potter to Oxford Street this Christmas.”

The collaboration will transform one of London’s most iconic shopping destinations into “a festive celebration of one of the world’s most beloved stories, bringing a host of Harry Potter inspired celebrations and attractions to shoppers, commuters, international visitors and fans throughout the festive season,” the partners said.

The partnership is timed to celebrate the Christmas launch of the new HBO original TV series, which kicks off with the eight-episode season of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and the opening of the Harry Potter Shop Oxford Street. The store is described as “the U.K. largest official Harry Potter flagship shop, which opens its doors to wizards, witches and Muggles” on Nov. 4 .

“Together, these moments ensure London’s West End is transformed with Hogwarts magic this festive season,” the partners said.

Alongside Oxford Street’s iconic star Christmas lights, visitors will this holiday season be treated to a series of specially created illuminated designs to bring the world of Harry Potter to life.

Said Dee Corsi, CEO of the New West End Company: “This will be a historic moment for Oxford Street. Bringing the world of Harry Potter to the street will create an unforgettable Christmas experience and showcase the West End at its very best. It is an exciting opportunity for retailers and a magical moment for shoppers, visitors and fans alike.”

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Further information on the Christmas program, the official light switch-on and more is expected in the coming weeks.

The New West End Company is focused on representing and keeping the West End “thriving,” its website says. “We keep our streets clean and safe, promote world-class experiences, provide trusted data and insight, and make the case for policies that support growth.” Its 800-plus members include global names in retail, leisure, hospitality, real estate and business.
