Coronation Street reveals new suspicions about Jodie in early release episode

Coronation Street spoilers follow from Friday's episode (11 September), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.

Jodie Ramsey has been up to no good for months on Coronation Street by this point, but the schemer faced some suspicions of her own as a familiar face arrived in Weatherfield for the first time.

In addition to trying to make Shona and David's lives a misery, Jodie has also been meddling in the affairs of others. Just this week alone, she discovered that Kit Green and Bethany Platt had slept together.

Today's episode of the ITV soap begins with Jodie continuing her community service in the streets, where she's on the receiving end of some barbs from Brian Packham. She also speaks with Bethany, and says there's no bad blood between them.

She heads to Roy's Rolls, where she is mistaken for Shona by one of the mums from the baby group. Her dad Doug, who arrived on the cobbles earlier this week, also enters, but Jodie looks panicked.

Doug soon cottons on that Jodie is pretending to be Shona, and she subsequently lies that Shona and David are holidaying in Australia. When the pair return home, Jodie hides Doug, but he soon makes too much of a noise.

Shona isn't best pleased to see him, but she hears him out. Doug says that he's been in treatment for bipolar disorder, and wants to repair their fractured bond. She recalls that she was thrown out in a vulnerable moment, something which she struggles to forgive him for.

Shona recalls her troubled childhood as well as Jodie's, with Doug appearing as if he was going to let something slip. Jodie arrives in the nick of time, and urges Shona to forgive Doug for their upbringing.

As Shona heads upstairs, Jodie remarks that they both "have what they want" and that there's no need to "rock the boat". She looks at David lovingly, with Doug suspecting that her scheming may not be done yet.

His fears look to be justified, as Jodie appeared especially contemptuous at Shona and David's relationship. As they headed upstairs, she vandalised one of their wedding photos, but what will she do next?
