G-Eazy Announces Joint Partnership With Ty Dolla $ign’s EZMNY Records & EMPIRE

G-Eazy has entered a new era of independence after releasing his last six albums on RCA Records.

The Bay Area rapper has decided to keep things on the West Coast, forging a new joint partnership with Ty Dolla $ign’s EZMNY Records and label and distributor EMPIRE. G-Eazy expressed excitement and explained his decision in a lengthy statement. “To me, this is bigger than a deal. This is about bringing it all home. Literally,” he said in a statement. “After spending over a decade signed to a major label and bringing so many of my dreams to life — the one dream I never let go of was to work with my friends where we collectively and culturally prioritized both creativity and music first.”

The rapper added, “EMPIRE has built such a massive empire all while carrying the torch and waving the flag representing our region in the best possible way. My mission statement from the jump has always been ‘from the Bay to the universe’ and we couldn’t be more aligned when it comes to that. It’s rare to find real friends in this industry so Ty and I being homies for over a decade is something I don’t take for granted. He’s one of the most talented musicians I’ve ever met and it’s an honor to join the team. Besides, G-Eazy signing to EZMNY kinda just makes sense, doesn’t it? This partnership gives us the freedom to move with purpose and power. It’s a new chapter, and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come.”

Ty Dolla and his partner Shawn Barron are just as hyped to work alongside G-Eazy for this next phase of his career. “We founded EZMNY Records with an artist-first mentality, where we aren’t afraid to push boundaries to bring great music, genuine talent and real artistry to the world,” they said of the new partnership. “G joining the EZMNY roster comes after more than a decade long relationship and is another example of us executing our mission statement. We’re excited to partner with G’s team at Bad Habit, as well as Ghazi and his incredible team at EMPIRE on this next chapter. This is proof that two forward-thinking independent labels can join forces to redefine what a joint venture can look like in 2026.”

Nima Etminan, COO of EMPIRE, echoed Ty and Barron’s sentiments and called the Bay Area link-up “a no-brainer.”

“G-Eazy has been a long time friend of EMPIRE’s, collaborating with and supporting our artists, taking them on the road and sharing his platform,” Etminan said. “He’s been a stand-up guy since day one and when we were presented the opportunity to partner with him on his new project, it was a no-brainer to make it happen and embark on this next chapter together.”

To celebrate the announcement, G-Eazy and Ty Dolla $ign will release the Nic Nac-produced “JFK” (featuring Ty Dolla $ign) on Friday (Sept. 25), which the two debuted last weekend in NYC via a surprise performance at Ty Dolla’s tour stop at Madison Square Garden. The track is the second single from G-Eazy’s forthcoming new album via EZMNY/EMPIRE, following “Pretty Girls,” which was released last month. Last week, G-Eazy kicked off his 23-city “The Endless Summer Tour Part II” with Logic at Morton Amphitheater in Kansas City, Mo.
