General Motors Q3 2026 earnings preview: Analysts anticipate quarterly profit

Translate

General Motors (GM) is scheduled to announce Q3 earnings results on Tuesday, October 20th, before market open.

Wall Street, on average, expects the global automotive manufacturer to post a quarterly EPS of $3.63 (+29.6% Y/Y) on revenue of $48.76B (+0.3% Y/Y).

General Motors (GM) reported better-than-expected second-quarter results and raised its full-year outlook, citing manufacturing efficiencies, growth in its software and services business, and upcoming vehicle launches.

Recently, General Motors said its U.S. sales benefited from strong demand for pickups, SUVs, and commercial vehicles in the third quarter, highlighting gains across several key segments..

“General Motors heads into Q3 earnings with weaker vehicle sales but improving profitability prospects, supported by its resilient core business. Despite a 5.5% decline in Q3 U.S. vehicle sales, non-EV sales remained essentially flat, suggesting underlying demand is holding up,” pointed out a recent Seeking Alpha analysis.

Over the last 2 years, GM has beaten EPS estimates 100% of the time and has beaten revenue estimates 88% of the time.

Over the last 3 months, EPS estimates have seen 11 upward revisions and 1 downward. Revenue estimates have seen 8 upward revisions and 2 downward.

Since the start of the year, GM shares have fallen added 2.8%, compared to the 12% rise in the broader S&P 500 index (SP500).

Seeking Alpha's Quant recommended the stock as a Strong Buy while the Wall Street analysts see the company as a Buy.
