IPOH, Sept 17 — Police are investigating an incident where a car driver was allegedly threatened with a wooden stick on Jalan Ipoh-Gopeng, Simpang Pulai, near here, yesterday. 

The incident has now gone viral on the social media platform Threads.

Ipoh district police chief ACP Muhammad Najib Hamzah said today that the incident occurred at 4.56pm when the victim, driving a Mercedes, claimed that his vehicle was forced to the side by a Toyota Vios before a misunderstanding arose after the victim honked at the other vehicle.

“One of the two men who got out of the Toyota Vios was accused of carrying and pointing a stick at the victim’s brother. The incident was also recorded by a dashboard camera (dashcam), he said.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code and efforts to track down the individuals involved are underway.

Therefore, he advised all road users to drive carefully, always control their emotions, and not act aggressively when facing any misunderstandings on the road. — Bernama
