Hockey India on Thursday released the draft electoral roll for its December 5 elections to choose office-bearers and executive committee members for the 2026-30 term, with 58 names listed against 60 positions.

The electoral roll issued contains 56 representatives from 28 state and Union Territory associations, with two positions allotted to each association, besides four sportspersons of outstanding merit. The names were issued under the provisions of Rule 10(5) of the National Sports Governance Rules 2026.

Each of the 28 associations has been allotted two representatives, one male and one female. While 27 associations have submitted both names, Manipur Hockey is the only permanent member whose two positions remain unfilled, with the electoral roll stating “No Name Received” against both entries.

The four sportspersons of outstanding merit named in the electoral roll are Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Gurjant Singh, Vandana Katariya and Rani. The inclusion of two male and two female players fulfills the gender representation requirement under the National Sports Governance Rules, 2026.

All 28 permanent member associations listed on Hockey India’s official membership are included in the draft, though Manipur’s nominations are still pending.

The elections are being conducted under the National Sports Governance Act, 2025, and the National Sports Governance Rules, 2026, notified in January. The rules provide for a maximum of two votes for each eligible state-level affiliate and individual voting rights for sportspersons of outstanding merit.

Members seeking additions, deletions or alterations to the draft electoral roll have been given until 5 p.m. on November 6 to submit objections to the Electoral Officer.
