Breaking: Mexican court sentences three men over murders of Jake and Callum Robinson
Three men have each been sentenced to 158 years and nine months in prison for the murders of Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson and their friend Carter Rhoad while they were camping in Mexico in 2024.
Jesús Gerardo, known as "El Kekas", Irineo Francisco and Ángel Jesús — whose full names were withheld for legal reasons — were found guilty of aggravated homicide and several related offences last week.
The three victims were killed during a surfing trip in Mexico's Baja California region on the Pacific coast in April 2024.
The prosecution told the trial that the victims were murdered during a robbery gone wrong, although the defence had attempted to argue there was not enough evidence to prove the case.
