The first New Music Friday of October certainly bodes well for the rest of the month.

Noah Kahan leads this week’s round-up with “Draw You Out,” the haunting new single from the highly anticipated soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. “If I have to sit there in the studio and put a lot of love into it, I don’t know if I can connect with it if I don’t feel like parts of me are in there,” he told Billboard about the Aaron Dessner cowritten and coproduced song. “I really do feel proud of being able to find that balance on this song.”

This week also features Lil Nas X’s comeback single “World’s Greatest,” dedicated to his late mother, as well as Holly Humberstone’s “Too Cute to Be Lonely,” the first single from her forthcoming deluxe album Cruel World…So It Ends. We also got new singles from Hilary Duff (“Catastrophic” from the upcoming The Cat in the Hat film), Souldified (“Man Ain’t Me”), Yung Miami, (“2008” / “F You”), Megan Thee Stallion (“Tina Tuesday Freestyle”), Fontaines D.C. (“Tongue”), Martin Garrix (“This Dream of You”), Brakence (“Crystallized” / “Death Roll”), Rachel Cinouriri (“Broken Chair”), Michael Kiwanuka (“Summer Clothes”), Lucky Daye (“Talk to Me”), Kameron Marlowe (“Take You Down With Me”), HARDY (“Man in the Box”), Blaqbonez & Asake (“Ikebe 3000”), xaviersobased (“Off Tha Meter”) and Jah Vinci (“Clock It”).

On the album side, Victoria Monét leads the way with Frequency of Love, her lush, 22-track follow-up to her three-time Grammy-winning debut studio album, Jaguar II. Featuring collaborations with Bruno Mars, SZA, Leon Thomas, Lucky Daye and Bryson Tiller, the shimmering set is a love letter to R&B. Holding it down for hip-hop, Drake reloaded his HABIBTI album with a FOMO deluxe edition featuring four new tracks, including collaborations with Don Toliver and Yebba.

Not only did fast-rising alternative-grunge band Dexter and the Moonrocks drop its debut LP, Friends That I Don’t Like, but country superstar Miranda Lambert also shared her new Crisco album, which features an appearance by recent Billboard Hot 100 history-maker Ella Langley. Monokoi, the solo project of Colombian artist Camilo Sánchez, unveiled its Geometría del Universo debut album. And Randy Nota Loca of Jowell y Randy released Romances de una Nota III, the final installment of the three-part solo project he launched in 2017.

This New Music Friday boasts loads of new projects from artists across genres, including Quadeca (Life 1), Lalah Hathaway (Made in Chicago), BNXN (Still in Charge EP), The Paradox (Proceed with Caution EP), Meshell Ndegeocello (Synonym), Ari Lennox (Vacancy: Late Checkout), Quavo (QRÖMELIFE), RYL0 (5T4RP0W3R), Jamal Roberts (The Journey), Zagga & Shakespeare (White River EP), Gavin Adcock (The Day I Hang It Up), NoCap (Heaven on Mars), Mac Miller (The Divine Feminine – 10th Anniversary), The Beatles (Rubber Soul – Super Deluxe), Ms. GREEN APPLE (POPS), Wynona (The Hard Truth), Stevie Wonder (Songs In the Key of Life – The EP) and The Chicks (Taking the Long Way Home – 20th Anniversary Edition).
