This Combo Vacuum and Air Purifier Solved My Cat Litter Tracking Problem. It’s $52 Off for Prime Day

Translate

Sometimes Amazon’s Prime Day events feel like I’m buying more things for my three cats than for myself. In the case of the EyeVac Air, it’s a product I don’t regret grabbing because it’s solved the biggest cleaning problem I have — it stopped my cats from tracking litter everywhere after using the cat box. Normally $249 at full price, the combination air purifier and touchless vacuum is 20% off, bringing it down to $198 (saving $51). This deal is exclusive to Prime members, but you’ll need to act fast as the sale ends tonight.

The EyeVac Air 2-in-1 is the perfect litter box companion

For me the benefits of the EyeVac Air became apparent the minute I stuck it next to my Whisker Litter Robot 5. It comes with both an air purifier and a built-in touchless dustpan, and you can run both at the same time without issue because there are two separate HEPA 13 air intakes/exhausts on each side. The air purifier helps keep smells under control between Litter Robot cycles.

When I kept it next to my regular plastic litter box, it also worked to keep the smells there under control. We haven’t lab-tested this air purifier to see how it compares to our main list, but I’ve never had a problem with it as the sole air purifier in my large office or living room.

The real selling point for me is the automatic dustpan. When my cats use the cat litter boxes, there’s often as much litter outside the cat box as there is inside. No amount of litter capturing rubber mats, robot vacuum scheduling and frequent vacuuming have helped keep it under control — I’ve found stray bits of cat litter in my bed more than once.

There’s an infrared sensor on the front, and all you need to do is sweep any scattered litter toward it, the vacuum turns on and suction up all the stray litter bits into its bagless dustbin. When it’s full, it’s a simple matter of emptying it. If automatic mode spooks your cats, you can also turn off the motion setting and run it manually, which I ended up needing to do for my more skittish cat. It’s still well worth it, since activating it is just a button press.

There’s no app or smart features beyond the sensor, but I appreciate its simplicity. You can really give this to any pet owner as a gift and it’s straightforward to set up and use.

Should you buy the EyeVac Air for Prime Day?

If you have cats and the space to put the EyeVac Air next to your cat’s litter box, I recommend it, with the caveat that this isn’t a historic low for the EyeVac Air. While it’s a 30-day low, we’ve seen it dip to $169 in March, so there’s a chance you may see a bigger price cut if you wait until the holiday shopping season.

That said, if you need something to solve your cat litter problem now, it makes cleanup for loose litter much easier than pulling out your regular vacuum or waiting for your robot vacuum to make its rounds. Just keep a small dustpan, brush, or broom nearby, and you’ll be able to clean up right away whenever you notice your cat has sprayed litter across the room.
