Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid were dismissed cheaply against Pakistan in the Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup in Muscat on Sunday.
Sehwag (22 off 40 balls) fell to left-arm spinner Niqab Shafiq in the 17th over while attempting a sweep, as he holed out to Mohammad Sayam at deep mid-wicket.
Sehwag had come into the game on the back of a match-winning half-century against Nepal, but struggled to replicate the same kind of fluency against Pakistan.
He found the going difficult against pacers Ali Raza and Sayyam in the Powerplay as the pair extracted the maximum out of the green surface on offer to make early inroads, removing captain Lakshya Raichandani and VK Vineeth.
Sehwag’s dismissal brought in Dravid, but he perished soon after for 10 off 16 balls The wicket-keeper started, lofting one over extra-cover for four.
However, the 17-year-old fell while trying to go over extra covers again, hitting it straight to the fielder off Niqab’s bowling.
