2028 Olympics Qualifier: Eguavoen Warns Super Falcons Against Underestimating Comoros

Translate

Super Falcons interim head coach Augustine Eguavoen has warned his side against underestimating Comoros ahead of their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying fixtures.

Comoros will host the 10-time African champions in the first leg of their second-round qualifying tie at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne on Friday (today).

The return leg is scheduled to take place at the same venue next Tuesday.

Comoros head into the encounter on the back of an emphatic performance in the previous round, where they thrashed Sudan 30-0 on aggregate.

Despite Nigeria’s superior pedigree and the quality of players at their disposal, Eguavoen has stressed the importance of approaching the tie with the right attitude.

The interim coach expressed confidence in his team’s ability to progress to the next round but insisted that the Super Falcons must respect their opponents and remain focused on executing their game plan.

“I believe no team can come here and survive. But we are not looking down on anyone. We’re not looking down on our opponents, really, with all respect. We stick to our game plan and just make sure we deliver,” Eguavoen told reporters in Ikenne.
