Three men arrested over alleged roadside urinating on Johor highway

JOHOR BARU: Three men were arrested for indecency yesterday after being caught on video urinating by the Eastern Dispersal Link highway, with police also seizing their multipurpose vehicle.

Johor Baru South deputy chief Superintendent Ng Swie Chait said a police report was lodged at 6.11pm after an officer spotted the posting, which was uploaded on social media at 2am yesterday.

The trio, aged between 28 and 36, were arrested at a restaurant in Taman Maju Jaya at 9.30pm last night.

"Police also seized a multipurpose vehicle believed to be linked to the case.

"One of the three suspects has a criminal record. All three tested negative for drugs," he said in a statement today.

The case is being investigated under Section 377D of the Penal Code for committing an act of gross indecency, which carries a jail term of up to two years upon conviction.

Ng said the investigation papers would be completed and referred to the state deputy public prosecutor.

Earlier, a 16-second video was uploaded to a Facebook group, showing three men stopping by the highway to relieve themselves while their MPV was parked with its hazard lights on, according to a motorist who narrated the footage.
