Monks traverse floodwaters to deliver relief supplies in Pak Chong; troops, rescuers evacuate patient weighing over 100 kg

Nakhon Ratchasima — 28 September 2026, Monks from Than Uthumphon Temple, also known as Wat Khlong Duea, in Mu Si subdistrict, Pak Chong district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, have joined efforts to help residents affected by flooding as water levels continue to rise amid intermittent rain and heavy downpours.

The temple prepared boxed meals, drinking water and relief bags, which monks distributed to residents in flood-hit communities to provide immediate assistance.
Some of the supplies had originally been donated to the temple by members of the public. After seeing the difficulties faced by nearby communities, the temple decided to pass the donated goods on to flood victims in urgent need of assistance.

Monks at the temple said that during natural disasters, people should help one another however they can. While the temple may not be able to reach everyone affected, they said they hoped their efforts could help ease hardship and provide essential supplies to people facing difficult conditions.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, 27 September, volunteers from Phrom Tham Sikhio Rescue Foundation and Sawang Wicha Thammasathan Rescue Foundation, together with military personnel, evacuated a patient weighing more than 100 kg from a flooded home in Soi Ja To, Ban Saphan Dam, Pak Chong subdistrict.

The community is among areas affected by flooding caused by flash floods. Water had risen to waist level and the current was extremely strong, requiring rescuers to use a military vehicle to transport the patient from the heavily flooded home to Pak Chong Nana Hospital for treatment.

Authorities continue to closely monitor the situation in Pak Chong district as intermittent rain persists. Water levels are still rising in several areas, posing a continued risk to residents in flood-prone communities.
