The Dallas Mavericks guard has never held a public wedding announcement, yet he and Marlene Wilkerson have been together since 2018 and are widely referred to as husband and wife. She is a businesswoman and YouTuber, and the two have raised a family largely away from the cameras. Irving has not officially confirmed a wedding, but everything points to him being married. Wilkerson regularly calls him her husband. In a YouTube video about the birth of their first child, she described him as “the greatest partner, the greatest husband I could ever have.”

Their story began in December 2018, when Wilkerson was reportedly spotted at the first Kyrie Invitational, Irving's youth basketball tournament. Neither of them confirmed a relationship at the time. By September 2019, she was photographed wearing a large diamond ring, and people began talking about an engagement.

She had hoped to work behind the scenes in entertainment but kept hearing “no,” so she built her own path. A final-year class project turned into The Fine Guru, an online clothing shop she started in 2015 and promoted through Instagram. The same year, she launched a YouTube channel with the same name, where she shares beauty, fashion and fitness tips along with glimpses of family life. It now has more than 750,000 subscribers.

The couple has two children. Their first, a son named Kaire, was born in 2021 in a water birth at their home, and they kept the pregnancy secret until after he arrived. They also tried to hide the second pregnancy, but then Nets coach Steve Nash revealed the baby's birth in October 2022 while explaining why Irving had missed practice. Irving also has an older daughter, Azurie, from a previous relationship.
