Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich will not be available for Wednesday’s Champions League match against Arsenal following a bereavement in his immediate family.

The club confirmed that the Germany international is not included in the squad for the fixture at the Allianz Arena.

In an official statement on its X handle on Wednesday, Bayern said: “Due to a passing in his immediate family, Joshua Kimmich is not in the squad today for the match against Arsenal. On behalf of the family, we ask that his privacy and grief be respected, and that further inquiries and reporting be refrained from.”

The club also offered its deepest condolences to Kimmich and his loved ones, stating that the entire Bayern Munich family stands with him during this difficult time.
