Vivek backs Salman's anti-trolling stand: Actor praises positive focus

Vivek Oberoi, whose equation with Salman Khan has often been a talking point, recently reacted to the superstar's outspoken stance against social media trolls. When asked about the ongoing trolling and speculation around Salman, Vivek opted to keep the focus on positivity rather than engage with the negativity.

In an interview with IANS, Vivek said, “There are so many things in life to do positive, why should we do negative, why should we talk?”.

During a recent Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss, Salman questioned why people troll others, suggesting they should instead focus on their own lives and families rather than target others constantly. He also spoke up in support of women facing body-shaming after pregnancy, in what appeared to be a nod to the criticism his close friend and former co-star Katrina Kaif faced over her post-pregnancy weight.

Salman, while not naming Katrina directly, questioned the reasoning behind trolling a woman over post-pregnancy weight gain. He noted that it's a natural and normal part of childbirth, and that fitness would follow once she got back to work, adding that she might presently just want family time. He also hit out at the broader practice of shaming celebrities for their body or age online, calling it needless and "dirty.

Vivek has previously recalled a difficult chapter when his equation with Salman became the subject of widespread public scrutiny. In 2003, the two were at the centre of a very public feud after Vivek, who was then in a relationship with Aishwarya Rai, called a press conference alleging that Salman had made threatening calls to him. Vivek claimed Salman had phoned him several times, objecting to his relationship with Aishwarya, with whom Salman was reportedly once romantically involved.
