Liev Schreiber was filmed swearing at and berating a red carpet reporter during the New York premiere of his new Apple TV+ series Nocturne.
The journalist, who herself was working for Apple TV, appeared to have just asked him a question that failed to win his approval.
'Talk to people like you value what they do,' Schreiber snapped. 'It's not a f***ing sound bite, especially when we're doing this in house for our own people.'
The 59-year-old thundered on: 'We're trying to make the show compelling, so engage with the person like they're an artist or they're an actor.'
Evidently in reference to the reporter's question, he fumed: 'Three words! Three words, like...three words isn't gonna do anything for anybody, and the monkey that f***ing thought of that is shooting themselves in the foot.'
The journalist then turned to camera and joked: 'I hope you're rolling on this,' earning a chuckle from Schreiber that seemed to somewhat deflate the tension.

In a calmer tone of voice, Schreiber said: 'If you wanna give them something that they can use, talk to people like they're humans, not like it's social media.'
After the fraught exchange, Schreiber and the Apple TV reporter were apparently able to settle into a cordial conversation about Nocturne.
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Schreiber and Apple TV for comment.
Schreiber attended the premiere Tuesday night on the arm of his wife Taylor Neisen, 34, with whom he shares his three-year-old daughter Hazel.
He also has two older children called Sasha, 21, and Kai, 17, with his ex Naomi Watts, whom he was involved with from 2005 until 2016.
Nocturne is based on two Swedish novels called Lazarus and The Sandman by Lars Kepler, the pen name of married couple Alexander Ahndoril and Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril.
Schreiber stars as a homicide detective called Jonah who gives up the tumult of Philadelphia for the tranquility of the Western Pennsylvania countryside.
However, his plans to lead a safer life are upended when his town becomes the target of Jurek Walter, a serial killer played by Adolescence co-creator Stephen Graham.
