Businessman Wale Tinubu says he joined President Bola Tinubu in performing the lesser Hajj in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Wale Tinubu disclosed this in a post on his X account on Saturday, describing the pilgrimage as an opportunity for humility, gratitude, brotherhood and service.

“In Makkah, the distinctions we carry fall away, leaving humility, gratitude, brotherhood and a spirit of service,” he wrote.

He added, “I was honoured to join His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in performing the lesser Hajj.”

The Group Chief Executive of Oando Plc also prayed for Allah to accept their act of worship and grant Nigeria peace, progress and prosperity.

President Tinubu arrived in Saudi Arabia on Thursday evening after departing Abuja for the pilgrimage.

The President performed the Umrah rites early Friday at the Grand Mosque, Masjid al-Haram.

Speaking with journalists after completing the exercise, Tinubu described the pilgrimage as significant for him and the country, saying he felt fulfilled and grateful for the opportunity.

PUNCH Online had reported that the President was accompanied by governors and senior government officials, including Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri and Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu.

The Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, also accompanied the delegation.

Tinubu also called on Nigerians to pray for the country, particularly for peaceful elections ahead of the January 2027 general polls.

The President is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing his spiritual engagements in Saudi Arabia.
