President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has been invited to watch the Formula 1 race car event in Singapore, Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro said on Tuesday.
Marcos is headed to Singapore for a working visit from October 7 to 11, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Tuesday.
The DFA said the upcoming visit is important as the Philippines was about to end its chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and hand it over to Singapore.
Marcos is also set to attend the 24th Forbes Global CEO Conference to meet with leading business leaders from Singapore and across the world.
This would allow the President to present investment opportunities in the Philippines, the DFA said.
"Bibisita rin ang Pangulo sa Singapore Nuclear Research and Safety Institute, upang alamin ang karanasan at expertise ng Singapore sa nuclear technology and safety," the DFA said.
(The President will also visit the Singapore Nuclear Research and Safety Institute to learn more about the experience and expertise of Singapore in nuclear technology and safety.)
This will be Marcos' sixth trip to Singapore, following his visit last July, when he also met with Wong to discuss matters related to the chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Marcos had also participated in the Milken Institute Private Roundtable Discussion in his last Singapore trip. —NB, GMA News
