'Silambarasan will be the junior box office God with 'Arasan'': says Thanu

Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu has made a strong prediction about 'Arasan,' the upcoming Tamil film starring Silambarasan TR, popularly known as STR. The producer believes the film has the potential to deliver impressive box office results and recover its production cost within a week of its theatrical release.

Directed by Vetrimaaran, the action-crime drama is among the films drawing attention from Tamil cinema fans. Thanu has also revealed that the film is attracting interest from digital and satellite platforms ahead of its release.

Thanu says ‘Arasan’ could recover its entire budget in one week

Speaking during an interaction with Valaipechu, Thanu shared his expectations for the film’s business and compared STR’s potential box office impact with Rajinikanth’s upcoming film.

“Both OTT and satellite are asking for 'Arasan' at the highest price. We are releasing a promo for Diwali, and expectations will go even higher. I will recover the entire cost of 'Arasan' within a week of its theatrical release,” he said.

Thanu added, “Just as Superstar Rajinikanth is the box office God with 'Jailer 2,' STR will be the junior box office God with 'Arasan.'” These are the producer’s projections, with the film’s actual performance to be known after its release.

‘Arasan’ Diwali promo expected to raise audience expectations

Thanu believes the upcoming promotional material will help build further interest in 'Arasan.' The planned Diwali promo is expected to give audiences a better idea of the film and increase anticipation around STR’s collaboration with Vetrimaaran. The director is known for his intense storytelling, while STR’s involvement has added to the buzz surrounding the project. However, Thanu has not revealed details about the film’s plot.

The producer’s comments also come as the makers continue working on the film, with promotional plans expected to offer more updates in the coming months.
