Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, has kept his focus on winning a Super Bowl for his team this season amid criticism about his fitness levels. While he has been a strong player on the field, his $200 million investment had fallen into controversial legal trouble.

Amid the new season, it seems things have taken a turn again.

Travis Kelce’s $200 million investment in Six Flags has a new twist after being involved in a wrongful death lawsuit

According to FOX 11 Los Angeles, Travis Kelce’s Six Flags has now reached a settlement agreement with ride-train supplier S&S Worldwide Inc., after the amusement park was sued by Christopher Howley’s family for his tragic death in 2022.

For now, the financial details have been kept private as his family has tried to remain out of the spotlight. In June 2022, 22 year old college graduate Chritopher Howley collapsed after going on the infamous X2 ride with his younger brother, Alex, and cousins. As per reports, a CT scan revealed a catastrophic subdural hematoma, and the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner ended up ruling his death an accident resulting from blunt force head trauma sustained on the ride. The young man Christopher Howley passed away in just a few hours leaving behind his family shaken and grieving. As per FOX 11, in an interview, Christopher Howley’s mother said, "I remember him [Alex] saying, 'Mom, Christopher collapsed, and he's not waking up…We went from a family of four to a family of three in an instant…”She added, “It's devastating. It is a piece of us that is gone forever."

His younger brother, Alex, also opened up about the ride as he said, "It was very rough. It just jerked us. It just jerked us all around," and noting that near the end, "It just like jolted us all the way forward and then our heads just swung all the way back into the end to the head."

Christopher Howley’s father William added, "The surgeon had said, he likened it to shaken baby syndrome, that the ride hit his heard so hard that it had basically ruptured his brain…”In the last few months, many such people have complained of getting sick after being on the ride.

Two women were even hospitalised and had to go through brain surgery after getting on the X2 in July 2026.The infamous X2 ride has now been shut down permanently as Six Flags continues to fight several lawsuits related to the ride.

Travis Kelce keeps his distance from Six Flags’ legal trouble

Though Travis Kelce invested a whopping $200 million into Six Flags for a 9% stake alongside JANA Partners, he has kept himself away from the mess. There have been no statements or comments from the star player yet.
