India’s Ravanni Valasanaini won bronze in the women’s 1500m T11 final of the Asian Para Games 2026 at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games on Monday.
It was her compatriot Rakshita Raju who had finished third with a timing of 5:31.45s but was disqualified due to non-compliance with shoes, clothes and bib, which allowed Valasanaini, who came fourth with 5:41.85s, to claim the bronze medal.
T11 to T13 events are for athletes with visual impairment. T11 is for athletes with total or near-total blindness
Overall, India has won a total of 11 medals - four gold, five silver and two bronze - at the ongoing edition of the continental event and is currently placed fourth in the medals tally.
