KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 —The Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) has returned investigation papers concerning allegations that Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim was forced to sign an Instrument of Proclamation to the police for further action.
In a statement today, the AGC said it had reviewed the investigation papers submitted by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) on Oct 30 concerning the incident.
“An investigation was opened under Section 506 of the Penal Code after the Menteri Besar alleged that he had signed a proclamation concerning changes to the position of the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan under undue influence.
“Following a comprehensive review, it was found that several further steps must be undertaken by the investigating officer before any decision can be made.
“Accordingly, the investigation papers will be returned to the PDRM today for further action,” the AGC said.
