Honor X9e Pro to launch with five industry-first features, including 11,000mAh battery

KUALA LUMPUR: Honor is raising the bar for the mid-range smartphone segment with the new X9e Pro, which the brand claims delivers five industry-firsts, including the largest battery capacity, strongest durability, highest water resistance rating and brightest display in its category.

The standout feature is its 11,000mAh battery, which Honor says is the largest battery capacity in the industry, designed to give users longer usage between charges without having to constantly look for a power outlet.

The X9e Pro will officially launch on Sept 24.

BUILT FOR LONGER USE

With an 11,000mAh battery, the X9e Pro is designed to handle extended periods of everyday use.

Under laboratory test conditions, Honor says the device can deliver up to 66.8 hours of video playback, 164.5 hours of music playback and 35.6 hours of short-video browsing on a single charge.

The phone also supports 80W wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging, allowing users to charge compatible devices such as earbuds or another phone when needed.

The battery is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 50°C and is rated by Honor for six years of extended durability.

DESIGNED TO WITHSTAND DROPS

Beyond battery life, the X9e Pro places a strong focus on durability.

Its chassis design draws on the crash-beam principle used in race cars, with the structure designed to channel impact forces through the frame when the phone is dropped.

Honor has also introduced a full-surface adhesive bonding solution between the screen and frame, replacing traditional backing adhesive. The design is intended to help distribute and absorb impact forces to reduce the risk of screen damage.

The device has undergone testing across more than 10 real-world ground surfaces and eight points of the phone, covering surfaces such as polished tile, marble, granite, asphalt and cobblestone.

During a live demonstration, Honor also fired rubber pellets from an air gun at the device's screen, with the display continuing to function after multiple impacts.

The X9e Pro has earned the SGS Premium Performance Certification of Drop & Crush Resistance.

WATER RESISTANCE UP TO 10 METRES

The X9e Pro also carries IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications, with water resistance rated to a depth of up to 10 metres.

According to Honor, the phone is rated for 100,000 water-entry cycles and has also passed a 24-hour continuous salt-spray test, designed to assess its resistance to corrosive environments such as seaside air and humidity.

Its waterproofing architecture takes inspiration from submarine design, combining an outer pressure-resistant shell, multiple waterproofing layers and compartmentalised sealing.

Precision drainage channels are also used to help remove moisture from exposed components such as the speaker.

A BRIGHTER DISPLAY

For users who spend plenty of time outdoors, the X9e Pro features a peak brightness of 10,000 nits.

Honor says this represents a 67 per cent increase over the previous generation, enabled by a second-generation deuterium high-efficiency luminescent material developed with its supply chain.

The material is designed to improve light-emitting efficiency while maintaining structural stability, helping to reduce the risk of screen burn-in.

The higher brightness is also intended to improve screen visibility in bright outdoor conditions.

The X9e Pro builds on the wider Honor X series, which Honor says has remained Malaysia's best-selling mid-range smartphone series for four consecutive generations.

The company says the series held the No. 1 position in the market for 37 consecutive months from February 2023 to March 2026, with its market share reaching 77 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Globally, the Honor X series has surpassed 130 million users.

With the X9e Pro, Honor is bringing together its focus on battery capacity, durability, water resistance and display technology as it continues to expand what users can expect from a mid-range smartphone.
