Translate

A 15-man delegation from the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will arrive in Nigeria on Friday for the second and final inspection of facilities ahead of the country’s hosting of the 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly and the 2026 CAF Awards.

The 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly is scheduled to hold at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, on Saturday, November 21.

The 2026 CAF Awards, the continent’s biggest football awards ceremony, will take place at the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and Creative Arts, Lagos, on Monday, December 7.

During the first inspection, held from July 31 to August 4, CAF officials engaged with executives of various institutions and agencies involved in hosting the two events in Lagos and Abuja.

The engagements resulted in an agreement on sustained communication to foster mutual understanding and ensure the successful delivery of seamless, innovative and forward-looking events.

In Abuja, the delegation will inspect facilities and engage with top officials of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Transcorp Hilton Hotel and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

The team is also scheduled to pay courtesy visits to the Chairman and Director-General of the National Sports Commission.

The CAF delegation will be accompanied during the inspections in Lagos and Abuja by a six-man team from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), led by Dr. Ademola Olajire.
