Aditi Ashok will be one of India’s strongest medal prospects in golf. The 28-year-old Olympian is currently India’s highest-ranked women’s golfer at No. 131 in the world and will bring in considerable experience from the LPGA Tour to the competition.
Aditi, a five-time winner on the Ladies European Tour (LET), already knows what it takes to perform at the Asian Games, having won the individual silver medal at Hangzhou in 2023. Incidentally, that is the country’s only women’s Asiad golf medal to date.
That experience, combined with her exposure to the world’s best golfers, makes her a strong contender for the top step of the podium in Aichi-Nagoya.
She will also have the benefit of playing alongside Diksha Dagar and Pranavi Urs in the women’s team event, giving India another potential medal route.
Yuvraj Sandhu (World No. 576), Veer Ahlawat (#648), and Saptak Talwar (#640) constitute the men’s team.
With the golf competition scheduled at Kasugai Country Club East Course from September 30 to October 3, Aditi will be determined to go one better and win India’s first women’s golf gold at the Asian Games.
