Emmerdale: Samson Dingle's show future 'confirmed' as he's released from prison

Translate

It seems that an Emmerdale character won't return to the Dales after a two-year stint in prison. After leaving the soap in 2024, there appear to be no plans at present to bring back one of the Dingle clan for more scenes.

The Sun reports that the ITV soap won't include a comeback for Sam Dingle's son Samson, played by Sam Hall. Samson left the village two years ago after his involvement in laying the blame on Matty Barton over a stabbing incident was revealed, causing a fracture in the Dingle extended family.

Now, the soap has revisited the storyline as Samson is set to be released from prison in the near future, though this doesn't necessarily mean that Emmerdale fans will get to see more of him.

Digital Spy has reached out to ITV for comment, but hasn't immediately heard back.

Earlier this month, the soap hinted at a disagreement ensuing after the Dingles find out that Sam would be released.

Following Sam's feud with Matty, the latter is understandably less than thrilled at the prospect of seeing him again, particularly now that Moira's son has moved in with the Dingles.

"Moira still hasn't forgiven Samson for framing Matty and getting him banged up, so her stance on him alienates her from the other Dingles," our Emmerdale insider warned.

"Ultimately, Matty urges his mum to move on from the past and forgive Samson – but can she?"

While Samson's return would certainly wreak havoc on the Dales, it seems that the teen won't be thrown a release party anytime soon. Meanwhile, it is possible that the soap might hint at his fate in further references to his character.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
