Apple TV's Foundation series has slowly become one of the greatest surprises in science fiction in the modern era, bringing Isaac Asimov's iconic space adventure to life in a way many thought would be impossible. Asimov's time-spanning, sprawling narrative didn't appear to be easily adaptable on screen for longtime fans, but the liberties the show-runners have taken while still honoring what made the original books so beloved have certainly proven them wrong.

Foundation is headed into its fourth epic season, and is about to enter one of the most tumultuous periods in the books, where the carefully calculated course of psychohistory begins to encounter threats even Hari Seldon could never have fully anticipated. With the Mule now emerging as a major force and the mysterious Second Foundation becoming increasingly important, Season 4 has the opportunity to tackle some of Asimov's most famous ideas while pushing the show's already enormous scope even further.

However, ahead of Season 4's launch, fans are getting an opportunity to head to the stars in the upcoming release of Shared Moonlight, available now in Foundation: Galactic Frontier (via X).

Foundation: Galactic Frontier is celebrating Season 2's launch with Shared Moonlight, a new limited-time event built around lunar exploration, special currencies, and exclusive rewards. The event begins first on Servers 1001–1016 from September 15–21, before expanding to Servers 1017–1247 from September 21–27.

Shared Moonlight is split across several activities, where players can earn basic rewards simply through signing in. Bingo Bash provides a board of objectives to complete, with rewards for finishing rows and a larger grand prize waiting at the end. The Moonlight Battlepass adds daily and target quests that award Moonlight Points, which can then unlock additional milestone rewards.

One exciting activity is Lunar Soil Prospecting, which sends players into lunar ruins to excavate hidden treasure. Players can choose a desired Grand Prize and work their way through as many as 100 layers of lunar soil. Further, Moonlit Treasures awards Crescent Coins and Full Moon Coins that can be exchanged through the Moonlit Market, while Full Moon Charge-Up ties Purchase Points to daily prize drawings.

The biggest incentive is the collection of limited-time cosmetics and crew rewards. Shared Moonlight offers an exclusive ship skin, name frame, Avatar Frame, and Killing Effect, alongside a Festival crew choice that allows players to select Holly Nico, Murphy Riley, or Boka Lape. The event arrives alongside Foundation: Galactic Frontier's broader September update, which also introduces Season 2 testing and the new Combat Lab mode on select servers.
