'Would anyone dare to behave like that with Coldplay?': Mika Singh defends Daler Mehndi after Uttarakhand event controversy, says he will quit singing if anyone ever saw him with alcohol, Palash Sen comes out in support

Singer Daler Mehndi found himself at the centre of a controversy after Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal reportedly confronted him on stage during his performance at the Kunjapuri Mela in Tehri over allegations of alcohol consumption.

The incident has since drawn reactions from several people in the entertainment industry, with singer Mika Singh coming out in support of Daler and questioning the allegations against him.On Tuesday, October 20, Mika shared a video on Instagram, defending Daler and claiming that the singer does not consume alcohol. He also revealed that Daler had been unwell for some time and had recently undergone major surgery.Speaking in the video, Mika said, "Woh 30 saal se superstar rahe hain, kya zindagi mein aap logon ne unke haath mein sharab ka glass dekha hai? Ya unki birthday party mein sharabein chal rahi hain? Daler ji ke baare mein baat kar raha hoon, mere baare mein toh aap log neeche comment karke bakwaas karoge, kar lena. Kya aapne aaj tak Daler Mehndi ko dekha hai sharab peete hue? Nahi dekha. Jab aapne dekha hi nahi toh aapne seedha bol diya.

"Mika further pointed out that artists often honour their professional commitments even when they are unwell, sometimes performing despite having a fever as high as 104 degrees. He suggested that Daler may have similarly chosen to fulfil his commitment despite his health concerns. Mika also disclosed that the singer had recently undergone major surgery and had been in poor health. Although Daler had asked him not to reveal these details, Mika said he felt compelled to speak up as a brother and friend.Expressing his disappointment over the incident, Mika questioned the manner in which Daler was treated on stage. He stressed that allegations about an artist's conduct should be made only after verifying the facts and allowing the person concerned to present their side.Drawing a comparison with international performers, Mika asked in his Instagram caption, “Would anyone dare to behave like that with an international band like Coldplay?”Responding to Mika's video, Daler thanked him for standing by him and expressed his affection for the singer."@mikasingh love you Chhotey veer. Rab sareyan nu tere varga brother deve! Menu har jagah har maidan te help karan wala… Niddar aur zinda dil thank you Mikey. Lammiyan Umran te bhot changi sehat Rab Tuhanu Bukhshe."Kapil Sharma also wished Daler a speedy recovery and criticised those spreading unverified claims about the singer."May god give Daler paji strength to recover fast n he will roar like a lion on stage soon.

Shame on people who r spreading this fake news just for some views. God bless Daler paji."Singer Shaan praised Daler's contribution to music, writing, "Daler Paaji is the Original Rockstar !!!! He has shown the World how to Rock n Roar!!!"Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh also extended his support, commenting, "Love and respect for the entire family. What a beautiful and dignified artist family you are paaji"Palash Sen also took to Instagram as he came out in support of the veteran singer.

He wrote, "Seeing the continuous trolling and negativity directed toward you hurts, but it also reminds me of how easy it is for people behind screens to forget the human being behind the icon. They see memes and headlines… I see a man who has given his entire life, sweat, and soul to spreading happiness, uplifting culture, and serving through his art and philanthropy.

"Everyone has a bad day or ill health. Even legends can fall ill, but can’t disappoint their fans by not showing up.

You showed up and tried to do your best,” he added. He concluded by saying, "My dear Veer, stay strong. Circumstances are temporary, but love, respect, and your legacy are forever. I stand by you & love you today, tomorrow, and always. PS - Daler Paaji doesn't touch alcohol, never did, never will.”
