KUCHING, Oct 30 — Police are investigating an incident concerning the discovery of a dashcam hidden underneath a sink of a women’s toilet at a food court in Bau.

Bau police chief Supt Mohd Haide A Rahman said the complainant was in the toilet at around 11am yesterday when she heard several beeping sounds.

He said when she checked the surrounding area in the toilet, she found a small black object that looked like a dashcam under the sink.

“The complainant proceeded to share the discovery with the premises’ management before lodging a police report.

“The dashcam with a memory card has been handed over to the police to assist with investigation,” Mohd Haide said in a statement.

The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting a person’s modesty or intruding upon their privacy with intent. —  The Borneo Post
