Exclusive: Hollyoaks actor Brook Debio opens up about real life romance with co-star

Hollyoaks actor Brook Debio has opened up about the way that joining the show has changed his life, as he met his girlfriend and co-star Chloe Atkinson on set.

Brook and Chloe joined the soap at the same time last year, taking over the roles of siblings Ant and Dee Dee Hutchinson alongside Leo Cole, who plays Ro. After sparking romance rumours through their joint Instagram posts, the pair confirmed their relationship back in July with a series of photos from a mini golf date.

Speaking exclusively to Inside Soap, Brook gushed about his girlfriend and their unlikely connection on set, despite having grown up so nearby to each other.

"If I didn't join Hollyoaks, I probably wouldn’t have met my girlfriend Chloe," Brook tells us. "Which is so weird because she actually lives about 15 minutes away from me in real life.

"So we’ve probably crossed paths, but we would never have known. And obviously we’ve met in Liverpool instead, which is so random!"

Chloe is currently taking on an important issue-based storyline, in which her character Dee Dee is being groomed by her teacher Abigail Matthews. As he plays Dee Dee's brother, Brook weighs in on what Ant would think if he found out about her situation.

"Ant just wants Dee Dee to be safe, and it comes from an overprotective brotherly love," explains Brook.

"They want to know why Dee Dee is lashing out, but they’re oblivious to Abigail. If Ant found out what Abigail was doing to his sister, he would chase her down to get some sort of justice."
