Brisbane players celebrate AFL premiership ahead of fan day in Fitzroy

Brisbane players and supporters have packed Melbourne bars overnight to celebrate the Lions' last-minute win over the Dockers in the 2026 AFL grand final.

The cold and wet grand final day did not dampen spirits, with players gathering at a South Yarra bar long into the night.

The premiership players took turns drinking from the cup while across town in Fitzroy, fans relived the rollercoaster victory.

"It feels fantastic! Three in a row!" one man said.

"Those last five minutes," another fan said, holding her hands over her heart.

"Two three-peats in my lifetime, happy girl!"

"I'm going to lose my voice," another said.

"I thought we'd lost it then we came back again."

Police said they were pleased with the behaviour of fans at the MCG yesterday.

Just over 100,000 spectators packed into the ground for the history-making clash. 

Police say nine people were evicted due to behavioural issues and one penalty notice was issued.

No arrests were made.

The players will present the premiership cup to fans at Brunswick Street Oval in the former Fitzroy Lions heartland. 

Meanwhile, Fremantle players are flying home this morning after the Dockers' heartbreaking loss.
