Four remanded over death of Rohingya teenager in Pasir Puteh

KOTA BARU: Three Rohingya workers, including a woman, and a local employer have been remanded for seven days over the death of a fellow Rohingya outside a Muslim cemetery in Taman Desa Kujid here last night.
The remand order, which begins tomorrow, was issued by Magistrate Tuan Fakhrul Razzi Abd Hamid at the Magistrates' Court here today. The suspects, aged between 25 and 40, are being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
All four suspects arrived at the court at 9.30am.
Police detained four people, including a woman, following the death of an 18-year-old Rohingya man at a kongsi house opposite the Taman Desa Kujid Muslim cemetery here last night.
Police were informed of the incident at 10.30pm, and initial investigations found that the victim died at the scene after suffering a neck injury believed to have been caused by a sharp object.
Two suspects, the employer and a Rohingya man, were detained at the scene, while the woman and another Rohingya man were arrested in Selising, Pasir Puteh, near here.
