WWE Star Finally Wins First WWE Championship After Years of Waiting

Michin has her first WWE championship, and she summed up the road to it in a single word: “Perseverance.” She and B-Fab beat Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley on the October 23 episode of SmackDown to win the Women's Tag Team Championship, and Jade Cargill's interference at ringside decided the finish. The change ended Bliss and Paxley's reign after 14 days, since they had only won the belts on October 9. Michin posted that one-word message on Instagram after the win, and it came with a long wait behind it, because she had never held a title in WWE before this.

Michin's title win came after Jade Cargill interfered during the championship match

The match took place at Toyota Arena in Ontario, California, and B-Fab opened it against Bliss.

She hit a sliding clothesline early and went for a quick pin, but Bliss kicked out, locked her in a hold and backed into her own corner to tag in Paxley.

Paxley took down B-Fab, sent Michin through the ropes and brought her down on the outside with a moonsault off the apron. Bliss added a DDT on Michin, then went to the top and took out B-Fab with a cross body.

Paxley kicked Michin in the back of the neck and climbed up for a 450 splash, but Michin moved and Paxley had to roll through. Later Michin avoided the Cemetery Drive by holding on to the rope, which left Paxley hung up there.

Cargill hit her from ringside while the referee's back was turned. Michin then hit the Styles Clash for the three-count, and The Baddies were the new champions.

Cargill getting involved is pretty fitting, honestly, because this whole thing started with her. Bliss only ended up in the October 9 title match because Cargill, Michin and B-Fab attacked Charlotte Flair backstage, leaving Flair unable to compete.

Bliss took her place next to Paxley and they beat Fatal Influence, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, in Lafayette, Louisiana. That meant October 23 was the first title defense for Bliss and Paxley, and it was Michin and B-Fab waiting across the ring.

For Michin, the win ended a long road. The 37-year-old has been wrestling since 2009 and joined WWE in 2018, though she first turned heads in the company at the 2017 Mae Young Classic.

She has since called the moment surreal, and the location made it different than a normal title win for her. “We won it in my hometown, so I had family,” she said, adding that an old next door neighbor was in the crowd too.

B-Fab also won her first WWE championship after years with the company

B-Fab's first title came in the same match. She joined WWE in 2019 as part of Hit Row in NXT and got to main roster in 2021, so her own wait for gold lasted a few years as well.

Since the win she has talked about her slow but “crazy” evolution in the company, and about how having an actual tag team now gives her more room to do things.

The Baddies came together on the road to WrestleMania 42, when Michin and B-Fab betrayed Rhea Ripley and sided with her rival Cargill.

Bliss, meanwhile, was in her fifth reign as a Women's Tag Team Champion, and the October 9 win had been the first title on the main roster for Paxley. The belts now sit with Michin and B-Fab, and the Bliss and Paxley reign goes into the books at 14 days.
