An ash emission event from the Mayon Volcano summit crater was recorded Saturday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The event occurred at 08:04 a.m. with a grayish plume 200 meters above the crater before drifting southwest, recording of the Calbayog Station (VMCB) RasPi Camera showed.

“Alert Level 2 prevails over Mayon and entry into the 6-km Permanent Danger Zone should be prohibited,” PHIVOLCS warned. —VAL, GMA News
